- Burkwood Viburnum is one of the best all around Viburnums for its combination of beautiful fragrant spring flowers, attractive glossy summer foliage, rounded growth habit, and tough and adaptable character. The Pink buds open to white flowers in April. The fragrance is sweet and strong. It may form red fruits in summer, depending on pollination. It also may have a red fall color, this is variable. The cultivar 'Mohawk' has much more reliable fall color. It can be semi-evergreen, depending on site conditions and winter severity, although this is not usual in our area.
