Verbena is one of our favorite annuals for groundcover to fill large spaces. Once established, it is heat and drought tolerant, requires no care and blooms non-stop from late spring until frost. It comes in a variety of colors, some multi-colored. Some varieties are also great in pots and hanging baskets. By far the best for groundcover is the variety 'Homestead Purple. They also attract butterflies and hummingbirds.
