Deciduous Shrub (Rose)
Flower Carpet Rose
- Botanical Name: Rosa x 'Flower Carpet'
- Height: 2-3' +
- Spread: 3-4' +
- Exposure: Sun
- Care: None, may be pruned to shape if desired. To invigorate heavier blooming, cut back canes to 10" annually in late winter or spring once plants are well establised. (This is not required, but will encourage more flowers)
- Not Deer Resistant
- Flower Carpet roses come in a wide variety of colors. They are all easy care, and highly disease resistant. We consider them landscape quality roses. They are all 'self-cleaning' and require no fancy pruning or deadheading to maintain, although deadheading the spent flower clusters will tidy the plantings and encourage even more flowers. They bloom profusely from late spring until late fall. They have attractive, glossy green foliage. We suggest them for use in flower beds or for mass plantings. Bushes are compact and dense. Fertilize in early spring to encourage extra blooms. The red and pink varieties are shown.
