An excellent foliage perennial to contrast with the many colors and textures in a perennial border, it has silver gray soft ferny foliage that is aromatic and useful for cutting as a filler in arrangements. Grows into a dense, billowing mound of lacy silver leaves 3' across or more. Semi-woody, almost a shrub. Prefers well drained soil. Very drought tolerant once established. Very rarely flowers; flowers are not showy. Grown for foliage.
