  • ‘Gulfstream’ is a compact, dwarf, spreading form of 'Heavenly Bamboo'. It is a great tall groundcover. It is especially useful in full or part sun, where the foliage color is superb. However, it will even grow in a shady part of the garden. In shade, the leaf color is not nearly as vibrant. Probably the most outstanding characteristic of this plant is the attractive, lacy foliage, which resembles bamboo leaves. The new growth is often bronze to peach in color, becoming green and lime green with age. In the fall and winter, the growth takes on autumn leaf colors: red, orange, bronze and pink. May be semi-evergreen or deciduous in windy locations, during especially cold winters or when newly planted. Wonderful soft colorful accent plant. Very versatile, may be used as foundation plant, as a groundcover, or to soften other evergreens in a mixed planting.
