- Hostas are a shade garden delight. Their bold foliage adds texture and interest to the garden. They come in a wide variety of shapes, colors and sizes. All prefer at least semi-shade, although the amount will vary by cultivar. We are only listing a few of the hundreds of varieties and cultivars available, the ones most available and that we use most often. To list them all would be a daunting task. We will add to this list from time to time. See individual listings for more details.
