  • 'Great Expectations' is a treasure! The variegation is simply stunning, and the thick, puckered texture adds depth to this shade-loving plant. If you're looking for a truly distinctive Hosta, 'Great Expectations' is one to consider. It has white flowers in mid-summer. But the best part is the color. The heart of each leaf is a bright golden-yellow, then the solid, dark green edging begins. The ideal conditions are morning sun, or open or dappled shade. Depending on exposure, the center may be more chartreuse (in shade) or white (in sun) A slow grower, but a magnificent specimen once mature. Hostas are a shade garden delight. Their bold foliage adds texture and interest to the garden.
