- Frances Williams is an old variety that is time tested. The heart-shaped leaves grow to the size of a salad plate. They have greenish-yellow margins. The center of the leaf is blue and heavily corrugated, giving the plant a quilted look. Whitish bell shaped flowers appear in early summer on leafy stalks that are just taller than the foliage. A large growing Hosta that's showy as a specimen or planted in groups. A somewhat slow grower. Hostas are a shade garden delight. Their bold foliage adds texture and interest to the garden.
