- Fire and Ice is an exciting new Hosta with bold white and green variegation. Wide white centers are very showy, with a 'flame' shape. It is a striking reverse of 'Hosta Patriot'. The leaves of Fire and Ice have a heavy substance and are slightly twisted. In midsummer, lavender flowers appear on 20" scapes (stems). A midsize Hosta that's showy as a specimen or bedded out in groups. A somewhat slow grower. May be grown in part sun or shade; white color will be more intense if plants receive some sun. Hostas are a shade garden delight. Their bold foliage adds texture and interest to the garden.
