- Care: Cut to ground Early Spring before new growth emerges if needed (see below)
- Deer Resistant
- Clump-forming, slowly spreading (rhizomatous) evergreen fern that features glossy, deeply cut fronds. New growth emerges coppery green maturing to deep green by summer and to russet in the fall. Native. Usually does not require cutting back, however in a windy spot or in after particulary harsh winter, fronds could be a bit worn or tattered, and could use a fresh start.
