  • Flowering dogwood is a small tree with showy white flower bracts in the spring that appear before the leaves. It has red fruits in the fall and red fall color. It has a short trunk and a full, rounded crown with horizontal branches often in layered tiers, spreading wider than its height. The graceful yet compact shape and brilliant springtime blooms make this a favorite landscape tree. The flowering dogwood one of the finest flowering trees you can find for semi-shaded or woodland areas. It is beautiful in all seasons and even though it is common in home landscapes, it is still a welcome sight each spring.
