  • It has exceptionally dark green, shiny needles and a beautiful, low spreading shape. Plum yews prefers a moist, well-drained soil, but have some drought tolerance once established. If its needs are met, plum yews are rarely bothered by insects or diseases. The botanical name ‘Prostrata’ refers to the prostrate nature of the shrub. Japanese plum yews are a wonderful plant for shade gardeners, especially where deer are a problem.
