This early spring blooming pear tree has delicate small creamy white single blooms that are showy even from a distance. New growth emerges reddish purple in spring, then turns glossy green. It turns red again in fall. The tree shape is upright in youth, becoming more spreading with age. Like most ornamental flowering pears, the growth rate is extremely fast. 'Aristocrat' is an improved variety of the old 'Bradford' Pear, it has a more dominant trunk and better branching angles, making it less susceptible to wind and ice damage.
